How Faber-Castell Created a Startup Using Artificial Intelligence

Must read

Faber-Castell, the renowned company known for its school supplies, has ventured into the world of startups by leveraging Artificial Intelligence to develop a new tutoring app called Jibbit.

Jibbit is the result of a joint venture orchestrated by Faber-Castell’s innovation group. Launched just a month ago, the app targets high school students preparing for college entrance exams and the Enem. The platform offers customized tests and study plans available around the clock.

“This new product is part of a strategy we’ve been executing over the past decade to find new growth levers for the business, beyond our core offerings,” says Pavlos Dias, Head of Innovation and CVC at the company.

“It’s like having a tutor available all the time, which we’re feeding with the expertise and educational content that Jovens Gênios already has,” adds Fellipe Bazilio, Innovation Manager at Faber-Castell and executive leading the Jibbit initiative.

The platform provides three subscription options: free, semi-annual, and annual. To accelerate subscription growth, the company is investing heavily in marketing and seeking partnerships with other firms to attract students to the app.

“To drive acceleration, we’ve assembled a team dedicated to Jibbit, comprising members from Faber, Jovens Gênios, and other specialists focused on the platform’s success. We’re creating synergies in channels and expertise to deliver something that Faber-Castell and Jovens Gênios could not achieve individually,” concludes Pavlos.
