During the 45th Farnborough Airshow, Embraer showcased its flying car prototype, the eVTOL, which will be produced in partnership with Eve. This marks the first significant move toward the technology, with plans to manufacture approximately 2,900 eVTOLs, according to a letter of intent released by the company.
“With extraordinary dedication and competence, our team of engineers has successfully assembled our first full-scale prototype,” highlights Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve.
Bordais also emphasizes the company’s commitment to safety.
“This is a significant step that reinforces our commitment to safety, accessibility, and innovation. Now, we must focus on preparing a rigorous battery of tests. But we are going beyond creating an aircraft; we are developing a complete ecosystem of solutions to shape the future of the Advanced Air Mobility industry,” he points out.
During the presentation at the event, Eve also announced that it has completed the selection of its suppliers for the project, representing a significant advancement in the process, with the next step being prototype testing.
“This intensive testing phase marks the beginning of the next critical step in our journey. It ensures that our eVTOL meets the high standards and expectations we have set for performance and safety,” he concluded.
